Sea Fox Boat Works is an leading industry, saltwater fishing boat manufacturer who is looking for a talented Purchasing Coordinator for our Warehouse department. A purchasing coordinator is responsible for making routine and impromptu purchases of materials and services from approved vendors and coordinating all activities during the purchasing process. You will place and track purchase orders while constantly ensuring that inventory levels are maintained to meet the company’s needs.  This role involves collaboration with all departments to ensure timely purchasing to meet company needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Fishbowl and QuickBooks knowledge is a plus.
  •  Computer literacy a must. 
  • Prepare and maintain vendor database.
  • Create and maintain purchase orders.
  • Maintain and monitor optimal inventory levels by ensuring timely ordering and replenishment of materials.
  • Actively manage open purchase orders, initiating contact with vendors, to ensure deliveries are on time.
  • Expedite incoming material if necessary, monitoring transportation, and providing ETA updates to appropriate person(s)
  • Adapt purchase volumes based on demand, diminishing source of supply, obsolete items, cancellation of orders when necessary.
  • Detect, research, and resolve purchasing issues and problems with incorrect orders, invoices, and shipments.
  • Manage adjustments with vendors, such as repair or replacement of non-conforming inventory, or ensuring receipt of proper credit.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
  • Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, purchase orders, databases, etc.
  • Seek ways to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality or service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are key, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Open communication with all supervisors and upper management regarding issues and concerns. 
Qualifications & Skills:
  • 3+ years previous purchasing experience
  • Marine industry preferred, but not required.
  • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement and/or supply chain coordination.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
